According to Xiamen Daily Newspaper ‘s latest report, representatives from the hospital designated for coronavirus treatment in Xiamen confirmed yesterday that the last patient in our city diagnosed with COVID-19 was discharged.

This morning, the 64-year-old patient left the Hospital premises by herself escorted by the medical staff who treated her.

On January 23rd the first case of coronavirus pneumonia was reported in our city. A total of 35 patients have been diagnosed in Xiamen since that time and according to the report they have all been cured.

The last patient had been diagnosed on February 9th and stayed hospitalized since then. She was treated with a combination of Western and Chinese medicine. For the past few days, her condition continued to improve and different medical checks have confirmed her recovery. “As assessed by the Fujian Province Medical Treatment Experts Group, her case meets the National Health Commission criteria for de-segregation and discharge that apply to confirmed cases of COVID-19” as reported by Xiamen Daily’s article.

“As of today, our city has informed zero new reports of confirmed new cases and suspected cases of COVID-19 for 16 consecutive days. All districts in the city are low-risk areas, and epidemic prevention and control measures are still in progress” as described in the article.

From MTS China we would like to express our gratitude to the medical staff around the world for their resilience and heroic efforts. We send our best wishes for the recovery of all patients affected by COVID-19 everywhere in the world and hope everyone’s lives can slowly go back to normal.
