Islam Younis – International Business Development Manager and Account Manager

Islam joined Master Translations last April after 1 year at Multilingual Technologies (MLT), where he was an outstanding Director of Interpreting, fully involved in interpreters’ recruiting, training, onboarding and Quality Control, among other responsibilities such as Business Development, Sales, Client Training and Demos, and Vendor Management.

After a short hiatus to prioritize personal matters, Islam is back to the Translation, Interpretation and Localization industry, now as part of the MTS team. Today, we finally give him the official welcome to the Master Translations team, where he is the International Business Development Manager and Account Manager from Cairo, Egypt, leading and managing our expanding European and African teams. Many of our esteemed clients have already been in touch with our colleague Islam, so it was about time we introduced our talented colleague!

Who is Islam Younis?

Islam Younis in Egypt

Islam is a young, multilingual and entrepreneurial talent based in Cairo, Egypt. Truly bilingual in Arabic and English and fluent in Spanish, Islam has lived (almost) everywhere, being a nomad since a young age because of his father’s job. His family was based in Dubai, but travelled the world, growing up in multicultural and plurilingual environments, spending a few months at a time in countries as diverse as Turkey, Iraq, Greece, Lebanon, Cyprus, Syria, Algeria and Morocco.

At the age of 18, Islam moved from Dubai to Egypt. He majored in Biochemistry, and then spent two years working at a hospital in Sharm El-Sheikh in the Sinai Peninsula. Then, he moved back to Cairo and started working in customer service at a call center for a while, where he used English mostly. But he was always searching for something else, it was then when his gift and love for languages and his Biochemistry background proved very useful at the age of 26, when he started working as a full-time medical interpreter. He was very experienced in remote interpretation way before the pandemic started, and the rest is history.

Islam, we are so glad you chose to stay at the translation industry! Welcome to Master Translations!
