On January 20, 2024, Master Translations celebrated the company’s 23rd Anniversary and Chinese New Year holding a company meeting in Xiamen with the theme “Embracing New Tech for a Fresh Start”. Colleagues from branches in Shanghai, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, and other locations gathered with colleagues from the Xiamen headquarters to reflect on the achievements and challenges of the past year and look forward to the endless possibilities the future holds. It was a celebration of the past and a welcome to the future, as well as an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and learn from one another.
MTS has always promoted the learning of new technologies among its employees. Alongside the various tools workshops provided by the technical department to enhance the efficiency of the company’s employees, it also encourages all departments to boldly explore the application of new tech tools in order to adapt to the ever-changing market demands.
Technical and Business Workshops
During the morning session of the 2023 annual summary meeting, the company conducted technical and business-related peer training. The workshop was led by Nick Han, Head of the Project Management Department, Ray Liao, Deputy Director of the Production Center, and Eva Yan, Manager of the QA Department. Our team shared and trained on various topics including Chat GPT applications, improved project flow of DTP, audio and video transcription and translation, and more.
This training allowed all departments of the company to gain a deep understanding of new technologies and learn how to utilize the technical tools provided by the company to improve work efficiency. Additionally, through this training, each department gained a clearer understanding of each other’s responsibilities and the services that the company can provide, which promotes collaboration between departments.
Experience Sharing Session
In the afternoon, an experience sharing session took place. This meeting was hosted by our Training Manager Autumn Hong. Outstanding colleagues from each department shared their work experiences, providing colleagues at MTS with the opportunity to learn from one another and grow together.
Zhou Lingyun from the Domestic Business Department shared the current situation of the translation business and the impact of machine translation. Hu Bin from the Project Management Department compared the production processes of Phrase and Trados production platforms, sharing specific cases and solutions to common problems encountered by colleagues in their work. Li Ang shared methods for stabilizing long-term clients, such as establishing a terminology database based on the language database to effectively help clients reduce translation expenses.
While the experienced colleagues at MTS openly shared their valuable experiences and methods they had accumulated over the years, the newly-incorporated employees also shared the progress and achievements they had made in their work.
The heads of the Fuzhou, Quanzhou, and Shanghai branches also reported and shared their annual business situations and changes in market demand. During the meeting, not only did colleagues present in person share their experiences, but Luz and Islam, who were abroad, also joined and shared their updates and success stories about MTS European branch regarding market development and marketing.
Interpretation Department of MTS
2023 was a busy and fruitful year for the MTS Interpretation Department, with significant business growth. Eileen Zhou and Ying Jianjie from the Interpretation Department shared relevant data on interpretation projects, simultaneous interpreting equipment rental, advantages and weaknesses of different software for online videoconferencing, and subtitle translation at the annual meeting, providing the whole company with a better understanding of the interpreting services we provide globally.
Lastly, CEO Frank Wei reviewed, summarized, and looked forward to the company’s major achievements in 2023, as well as its goals for 2024. It was emphasized that in future work, the company plans to carry out a comprehensive technology upgrade.
Games and Awards
Everyone enjoyed dinner in a relaxed atmosphere, with interactive games and honorary awards hosted by Joanne Zhan from the Certified Translation Department and David from the Corpus Department.
The game session not only tested colleagues’ teamwork abilities but also provided an opportunity to relax and strengthen relationships. In the awards session, CEO Frank Wei and Deputy General Manager Stanly Zhang presented honorary certificates to individuals and teams who won awards such as Outstanding Employee, Technical Master, and Excellent Management Award, among others. Let us warmly congratulate these partners who have excelled in their respective fields and send them our sincerest congratulations and praise.
With the theme of “Embracing New Tech for a Fresh Start”, the 2023 Annual Meeting of MTS Translation Company came to a close amidst laughter. This full day of teambuilding led all members of the MTS team into a new year and a new journey of growth.
In 2024, we will continue to make relentless efforts to improve our own abilities, meet customer needs with better service, and create more value.
